As a massive Harry Potter nerd, one of my greatest pleasures in life is collecting items and props from the Wizarding World. While there are plenty of remarkable objects to collect, nothing quite compares to getting your hands on a quality made replica of your favourite characters wand. They might not be able to conjure spells, but they’ll look pretty neat displayed alongside the rest of your Harry Potter collection.
For the latest post on The Blog That Must Not Be Named, I’ve discussed and ranked my personal favourite character wands from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been a collector for years, these are the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts character wands every Wizarding World collector needs!
Check out my ranking below:
10. Ron Weasley’s Wand

Details – Fourteen inch, willow and unicorn tail hair.
After he broke his first wand during his second year at Hogwarts, Ron purchased this wand from Olivander. This wand seemed to be a better fit for Ron, as his original one was passed down to him from his older brother, Charlie.
9. Leta Lestrange’s Wand

Details – Currently unknown.
It is currently unknown where or when Leta Lestrange purchased this wand, although it would be wise to assume that she purchased it from Olivander before attending Hogwarts.
8. Hermione Granger’s Wand

Details – Dragon heartstring core, ten and three-quarter inches, vine wood.
Just like most of the witches and wizards, Hermione purchased this wand from Olivanders before her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
7. Voldemort’s Wand

Details – Thirteen and a half inches, yew, phoenix feather, shares its core with Harry Potter’s wand.
Created by Olivander using one of Fawkes’ feathers, Tom Riddle purchased this wand in Diagon Alley when he was just 11-years-old. Voldemort’s wand was created using the same core as Harry’s making them twins. With this wand, Voldemort killed Harry’s parents and countless others.
6. Newt Scamander’s Wand

Details – Unknown length, ash wood with mother-of-pearl.
Not much is known about Newt’s wand, although it has been previously stated that the young wizard most likely purchased it before beginning his education at Hogwarts. The wand certainly suits Newt’s personality, and if you look closely, you can even see where various beasts have clawed and chomped on the wood.
5. Sirius Black’s Wand

Details – Currently unknown.
It’s unknown how Sirius Black came into possession of this particular wand, although it would seem he found it following his escape from Azkaban. It is very unlikely that this is Sirius’ original wand.
4. Severus Snape’s Wand

Details – Currently unknown.
We still don’t know much about Snape’s wand, although it would be safe to assume that he bought the wand at Olivanders when he was 11. The wand was most likely buried with Snape, following his death at the hands of Lord Voldemort.
3. Harry Potter’s Wand

Details – Holly and Phoenix feather, eleven inches, nice and supple, it shares its core with Voldemort’s wand.
Purchased from Olivanders at Diagon Alley before Harry’s first trip to Hogwarts, this wand is quite unusual, as it shares the same phoenix core as Lord Voldemort’s wand.
2. Dumbledore’s Original Wand

Details – Currently unknown.
Not much is known about Dumbledore’s original wand (seen recently in The Crimes of Grindelwald), although it’s safe to assume that he either lost it or stopped using it after he won the Elder Wand from Gellert Grindelwald.
1. The Elder Wand

Details – Elder and Thestral tail hair, fifteen inches. One of the three Deathly Hallows.
According to “The Tale of the Three Brothers”, the Elder Wand was the first of the three Deathly Hallows created by Death. The wand is rumoured to be the most powerful ever created, giving its master the ability to cast spells that other witches and wizards consider impossible.
Note: All of the wands included on this list are available to purchase through The Noble Collection.
