Would Harry have saved the Wizarding World without the help of his best friend, Ron Weasley?
Ron Weasley may not be the brightest or bravest wizard at Hogwarts, but he’s certainly not the goofy sidekick many fans consider him to be. During his time at Hogwarts with Harry and Hermione, Ron proved himself to be an extremely loyal and noble wizard, who saved his friends (and the rest of the Wizarding World) on more than one occasion. If it weren’t for Ron’s commitment to his friends and family, there’s an excellent chance that Voldemort would have defeated Harry and taken control of the Wizarding World.
For my latest post on The Blog That Must Not Be Named, I’m giving Ron some much-needed time in the spotlight and discussing some of his most badass moments! Much like my previous blog post, which highlighted some of Hermione’s best moments, this ranking takes everything from the books and movies into account.
Check out the list below:
10. When He Remembered That A Basilisk Fang Would Destroy The Horcruxes

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron is the one who remembers that a Basilisk fang has the power to destroy Horcruxes, giving our heroes another chance to defeat Voldemort and his followers.
9. When He Flew The Car To Hogwarts

When Dobby blocks the entrance to platform 9 ¾, Ron finds an alternate (and far more dangerous) route to Hogwarts, stealing the Weasley family’s flying car.
8. When He Remembered To Save The House Elves

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron decides to warn the house-elves in the kitchen and order them to leave, stating that he doesn’t want them to suffer the same fate as Dobby.
7. When He Saved Tonks

Ron showed an enormous amount of bravery and skill during the Battle of the Seven Potters, fighting off multiple Death Eaters (including Bellatrix Lestrange) and saving Tonks’ life.
6. When He Opened The Chamber Of Secrets

To reach the Chamber of Secrets and retrieve the Basilisk fang, Ron manages to remember a bit of Parseltongue, allowing him and Hermione to destroy another Horcrux.
5. When He Tried (And Failed) To Curse Malfoy For Hermione

While we’re more than sure that Hermione can take care of herself, Ron turned into the ultimate badass when he came to her defence and attempted to curse Malfoy.
4. When He Won Wizards Chess

If not for Ron’s ability to play a great game of chess, there’s an extremely good chance that Harry would have never stopped Voldemort from returning in The Philosopher’s Stone.
3. When He Destroyed The Locket

Following his heroic return, which I’ll talk about in a moment, Ron finds the courage to fight his inner demons and destroy the locket once and for all.
2. When He Calls Harry Out

A great wizard stands up to his friends, and one of Ron’s most badass moments comes when he calls out his BFF and stops Harry from sneaking away in the middle of the night.
1. When He Retrieved The Sword Of Gryffindor

In his most badass moment, Ron heroically returns to his friends (along with a little ball of light) just in time to save Harry from drowning and retrieve the sword of Gryffindor.
