Newt Scamander and his beasts are heading to Brazil!
Warner Bros. Pictures has officially announced that the third Fantastic Beasts movie will begin filming in Spring 2020, with series director David Yates returning once again to helm the project. Production was expected to begin earlier this year, but the studio pushed the film back following the less than stellar reaction to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.
After months of speculation, Warner Bros. has also announced that the third Fantastic Beasts movie will take place largely in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The film will see the return of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald, along with Ezra Miller as Credence aka. Aurelius Dumbledore, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein. Jessica Williams, who first appeared briefly in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, will also have a larger role as Ilvermorny’s Professor Eulalie ‘Lally’ Hicks.
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has returned to write the screenplay, however, she won’t be working alone. Steve Kloves, who wrote seven of the eight Harry Potter films, is co-writing the third Fantastic Beasts movie with Rowling.
The third Fantastic Beasts film will land in cinemas in November 2021!
