The Harry Potter series is full of incredible moments, with each film delivering epic scene after epic scene. It’s almost impossible to choose which moments are our favourites, but over the next few weeks that’s exactly what The Blog That Must Not Be Named is going to do! To celebrate some of the best scenes in the Harry Potter film series, we’re going to be looking at each film in the franchise and ranking the five best moments it has to offer!
Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, which introduced many fans to the Wizarding World, gives us some of the most memorable and iconic scenes in the entire franchise!
Here are our five favourite moments in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone!
5. Meeting Ron & Hermione For The First Time

You never forget the first time you meet a lifelong friend, and we’ll never forget seeing Harry, Ron and Hermione together for the first time! The golden trio didn’t exactly get off to the best start, but it was clear that their friendship would be something truly special!
4. Defeating Quirrell/Voldemort

In his years at Hogwarts, Harry did a great many heroic things, but his first defeat of Lord Voldemort (clinging to life through Professor Quirrell) was perhaps his most memorable! There were definitely cooler sequences later in the series, but seeing Lily’s love protect Harry and destroy Quirell was an undeniably iconic moment.
3. First Trip To Diagon Alley

There are certain moments in the Harry Potter movies that completely capture your imagination and transport you to the Wizarding World, and Harry’s first trip to Diagon Alley is without a doubt one of these moments! This is the first time we entered J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World (on screen), and the filmmakers beautifully brought the writers work to life.
2. Harry Buys His Wand

When it comes to iconic moments from Harry’s first year at Hogwarts, there are plenty of unforgettable scenes to choose from, but it’s near impossible to beat the moment Harry finds his very first wand. After a few failed attempts, Harry’s wand finally chooses him and it’s easily one of the series’ most beautiful moments.
1. First Look At Hogwarts

Some movie scenes are so magical (pun intended) that they almost feel like they belong to us as individuals. Seeing Harry look up at Hogwarts Castle for the first time, as we as an audience get our first glimpse, is unquestionably one of the most iconic and beautiful scenes in recent cinematic history.
