Fantastic Beasts: Callum Turner Confirms That He Will Return In Fantastic Beasts 3

Callum Turner has confirmed that he will return as Theseus Scamander in Fantastic Beasts 3, which still doesn’t have an official title.

The actor, who was introduced as Newt Scamander’s older brother in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, was missing from the initial cast list and still doesn’t appear on the films IMDb page.

Talking to Yahoo about his new movie Emma, Turner confirmed that he’ll return for the third Fantastic Beasts film and revealed that he is due to begin shooting in “about six weeks” time. Turner didn’t reveal much else, but made sure to say that he hadn’t seen a script yet and still doesn’t know how big Theseus’ role will be.

The third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts series will take place mostly in Brazil, although Hogwarts and other locations are expected to be included. The film was initially expected to land this year, but was pushed back when Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald underperformed.

David Yates is once again returning to direct the film, with J.K Rowling and Steve Kloves writing the screenplay.

  1. I hope that JK Rowling and her co-workers learn from the last film by “tweaking” this one to focus more on the already-existing characters instead of adding in new ones, which can be confusing. I liked the idea of Theseus being a “model wizard” who follows rules, compared to his younger brother Newt who seems awkward, haphazard, and gets into trouble.

The last film ended with them embracing and Newt realizing he has to pick a side. So I hope the story will continue the brothers mending the fractured bridge between them. I just hope Theseus doesn’t being a tragic sacrifice in the upcoming war…but in this franchise a lot of good people bite the dust.

    1. I definitely agree, the next film would be smart to delve deeper into the current characters instead of throwing more and more at us.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Theseus is killed at some point in the series, but hopefully we’ll get to see more of his relationship with Newt first.

      Thanks for the comment!
