Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban: 5 Most Iconic Moments, Ranked

The Harry Potter series is full of incredible moments, with each film delivering epic scene after epic scene. It’s almost impossible to choose which moments are our favourites, but over the next few weeks that’s exactly what The Blog That Must Not Be Named is going to do! To celebrate some of the best scenes in the Harry Potter film series, we’re going to be looking at each film in the franchise and ranking the five best moments it has to offer!

Harry’s third year at Hogwarts is arguably his most unique, with the young wizard battling Dementors, werewolves and time-travelling to save the day! Featuring new characters and taking a darker turn, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban delivers some of the series’ best moments.

Here are our five favourite moments in Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban!

5. Hermione Punches Malfoy

If you’re looking for some of the most iconic and memorable scenes in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, there aren’t many moments that beat this one. Hermione smacking the insufferable Draco Malfoy is arguably one of the most enjoyable and satisfying scenes in the entire Harry Potter series.

4. Boggart Class

While I’d have to say that the Harry Potter series is at its best in the darker and more serious moments, watching the characters have some fun and let-loose never gets boring. Professor Lupin’s Boggart class is one of the funniest and genuinely uplifting moments in the whole series (thanks to Snape’s hilarious appearance), reminding us that even the darkest stories have flickers of light.

3. Dementors On The Hogwarts Express

The Harry Potter series has its fair share of nail-bitingly scary scenes, but the moment Dementors board the Hogwarts Express and attack Harry is without a doubt one of our favourites! This moment single handily cemented Prisoner Of Azkaban as a more mature and darker Harry Potter film, and it’s easily one of the most memorable scenes in the entire series!

2. Harry Saves Himself And Sirius

Looking at all of the most memorable, exciting and iconic scenes in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, we’d be fools to ignore this outrageously cool and incredibly inspiring moment! Watching Harry step out of the forest and conjure a powerful Patronus (in the form of a stag) to save Sirius and his past self is one of the series’ most beautiful, heroic and emotional moments!

1. Flying Buckbeak

When examining the most iconic moments in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, it’s impossible to ignore the utterly beautiful and outrageously thrilling moment Harry and Buckbeak take flight over Hogwarts! Watching Harry and the gorgeous Hippogriff soar over the school grounds never gets old, and it’s easily our favourite moment from Harry’s third year at Hogwarts!
