The Harry Potter series is full of incredible moments, with each film delivering epic scene after epic scene. It’s almost impossible to choose which moments are our favourites, but over the next few weeks, that’s exactly what The Blog That Must Not Be Named is going to do! To celebrate some of the best scenes in the Harry Potter film series, we’re going to be looking at each film in the franchise and ranking the five best moments it has to offer!
Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is perhaps his most important so far, as the young wizard is thrown into the treacherous Triwizard Tournament and finally comes face-to-face with the Dark Lord. Delving deeper into the Wizarding World than any previous instalment, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire features some of the series’ most iconic and memorable moments.
Here are our five favourite moments in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire:
5. Fred & George Fail To Trick The Goblet Of Fire
There is light and humour in even the darkest of stories, so it’s only appropriate that Fred and George supply us with an outrageously entertaining moment in one of Harry’s darkest chapters. Attempting to trick Dumbledore and enter the Triwizard Tournament, Fred and George are hilariously transformed into old men, which only makes their brotherly bickering more entertaining!
4. Hermione’s Grand Entrance
It might not be a gigantic action scene or one of the more exciting Triwizard tasks, but watching a transformed Hermione walk down the steps towards the Yule Ball is an incredible coming-of-age moment for the series. Showing just how far Hermione has come since we met her in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, this is a wonderfully charming and unexpectedly beautiful scene!
3. Voldemort Returns
While we’d met Lord Voldemort in previous instalments of the franchise, it’s impossible to deny that seeing the highly-anticipated villain fully revealed (portrayed by Ralph Fiennes) in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire is an incredibly executed, thrilling and outrageously iconic moment. From the first moment he appears on screen, Lord Voldemort is a genuinely terrifying and undeniably iconic villain.
2. Harry Wins The First Task
Harry manages to win his first Triwizard task, defeating a fire-breathing Hungarian Horntail and stealing its treasure. Seeing Harry fly over Hogwarts with a furious dragon on his tail is undoubtedly one of the most memorable and utterly badass moments in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
1. Harry And Voldemort Duel
After finally coming face-to-noseless-face with his arch-nemesis, Harry conjures enough bravery to fight Lord Voldemort, even though he knows it will probably cost him his life. Watching Harry step-out from behind Tom Riddle’s grave is arguably the series’ most inspiring moment, as it shows exactly how courageous and heroic Harry is, even in the face of death.
