First Look At New Illustrated Edition Of ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ From MinaLima

Thanks to Wizarding World and the team at MinaLima, we have an exciting first-look at the new illustrated edition of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone!

The latest illustrated edition of The Philosopher’s Stone comes from MinaLima, the renowned duo that created numerous designs (including the Marauder’s Map) for the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. The cover art for the new edition was revealed a couple of weeks ago, but now you can get an even better look at the beautifully illustrated edition.

Discussing their work on the new edition of The Philosopher’s Stone, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima said, “It’s been a real honour to be invited into this exclusive club of illustrators, and to do it and stay true to our style.”

The pair are far from the first to illustrate one of J.K. Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter novels, but they worked incredibly hard to ensure that their edition looks and feels different to previous works, particularly Jim Kay’s popular illustrated editions. Talking about their approach to the book, the duo said, “I think the biggest challenge was trying to un-think working on the films. And re-think, in a very from-the-heart way, what we felt we could best do for the text. This was a lovely opportunity to be fresh, and think – what would a child really love to see?”

Take a look at some of the illustrations, which have just been released, below:
