If you look at some of the biggest and best Hollywood movies released in the last five years, you couldn’t be blamed for assuming that the art of movie posters is truly dead and buried. Where there used to be creative, passionate and unique poster designs for every major release, there is now a constant stream of unimaginative and poorly photoshopped posters. Look a little bit deeper, however, and you’ll discover the underground world of alternate movie posters.
What are alternate movie posters, you ask? Imagine a massive group of incredibly talented and passionate artists/movie-lovers, who have come together to create re-imagined designs for the most beloved films of all-time!

What started as on online trend has become a full-blown movement, with a handful of websites (alternatemovieposters.com) offering a platform for artists to share their designs with the world. Studios might have lost their artistic flare in recent years, but movie fans around the globe have taken it upon themselves to create stunning, imaginative and expressive movie posters, which we can’t help but adore!
For my latest post on The Blog That Must Not Be Named, I thought it would be interesting to shine a light on the world of alternate movie posters, sharing some of my favourite Harry Potter designs.
