After years of speculation, it looks like an open world Harry Potter RPG is finally on the way!
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s long-rumoured Harry Potter/Wizarding World RPG is reportedly set to release in late 2021 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
While there was a supposed gameplay leak in 2018 (which looked amazing!!), Warner Bros. has yet to confirm that a Harry Potter open world RPG is in development. Not many details are known, but the the game will reportedly let players create their own characters and explore the most iconic Wizarding World locations!
Two anonymous sources close to the project have reportedly told Bloomberg that the project is “very real” and that Avalanche Software, which worked on Disney Infinity, is developing the game. The sources also confirmed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent backlash against Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, the game is still on track for its 2021 release.
