Earlier this week we reported that filming on the third Fantastic Beasts movie had finally begun, and now Jude Law, who portrays Albus Dumbledore, has confirmed that he has returned to shoot the third film in the Harry Potter prequel series.
Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor revealed that filming has finally resumed on Fantastic Beasts 3, which still hasn’t received an official title, following an unexpected halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Watch the interview in the video below:
With Jude Law back on set, it would be safe to assume that most of the main cast has returned to Leavesden Studios, including Eddie Redmayne and Johnny Depp.
Following the catastrophic events of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the third Fantastic Beasts movie will take Newt Scamander to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he will undoubtedly come into conflict with the villainous Gellert Grindelwald.
Directed by David Yates, the third Fantastic Beasts movie will see the return of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Johny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Ezra Miller as Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander.
With the film now in production, there’s still a chance that it could make its scheduled release date of November 12, 2021!
