FANTASTIC BEASTS: MADS MIKKELSEN OFFICIALLY CAST AS GRINDELWALD

Mads Mikkelsen has been officially cast as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, replacing Johnny Depp.

It’s official, Mads Mikkelsen is the new Gellert Grindelwald! Following weeks of rumours, Warner Bros. has officially announced that the Hannibal and Rogue One actor has signed on to replace Johnny Depp as the villainous dark wizard in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

The third Fantastic Beasts film is once again directed by David Yates, who also directed a number of Harry Potter movies, and is based on a screenplay by author J.K. Rowling along with Steve Kloves. Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and others are set to return.

We don’t know much about the third Fantastic Beasts movie, but we do know that the film will take place largely in Rio de Janeiro and will deal with the Wizarding World’s involvement with World War II.
