Is there anything more magical than Christmas at Hogwarts? Wouldn’t you just love to spend Christmas morning in Gryffindor Tower or exploring the castle grounds? Don’t worry Potterheads, you’re not alone!
While the Harry Potter films aren’t technically Christmas movies, even though most of the films take the time to show Christmas at Hogwarts, the holiday still plays a significant role in the series and Harry’s life at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
With everything that’s happened this year, we thought you might need some help finding the Christmas spirit, which is why we’ve decided to discuss our favourite Harry Potter Christmas moments! From Harry’s first Christmas at Hogwarts to the wonderfully extravagant Yule Ball, these are the best Christmas scenes that the Harry Potter franchise has to offer:
5. Hedwig In The Snow
It may only be a small moment in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, but Harry walking through the snow with Hedwig and the snowy owl taking flight over the castle grounds is without question one of the first things we picture when we think about Christmas at Hogwarts.
4. The Great Hall Decorated For Christmas
It might not be one specific scene in one particular movie, but it’s fair to say that the Great Hall’s Christmas decorations are more than enough to get us excited for a magical Christmas! With gigantic trees, beautiful decorations and more food than you can possibly imagine, we dream of a Christmas in the Great Hall.
3. CHRISTMAS AT 12 GRIMMAULD PLACE
There’s nothing like spending Christmas with your family and while Harry never got to experience Christmas with his parents, his Christmas at 12 Grimmauld Place with the Weasley’s and Sirius Black comes pretty close.

The Yule Ball might not have been a magical night for anyone, except maybe Neville, but its fair to say that the dance itself was more than enough to get us in a Christmassy mood.
