Rupert Grint, who portrayed Ron Weasley in all eight of the Harry Potter movies, has revealed that he’s only watched the first three movies in the iconic franchise.
Rupert Grint, who recently sat down with Variety to discuss his role in M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant on Apple TV Plus, shocked fans around the world by revealing that he hasn’t seen the last five movies in the Harry Potter franchise – but stated that he will watch them with his daughter, Wednesday, at some point in the future:
“I’ve probably seen the first three at the premieres, but after that I stopped watching them. But now that I have a daughter, I will probably have to watch them with her.”
While it might seem unusual for an actor to have avoided five of their most successful projects, it’s more common in Hollywood than you might think. Many actors, including Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep and Adam Driver, refuse to watch themselves act. Rupert Grint grew up acting in the Harry Potter movies, so we can understand why he might find it uncomfortable to go back and watch them all these years later.
