Rumour: Richard Coyle Is Playing Aberforth Dumbledore In Fantastic Beasts 3

According to, a website devoted to the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise, multiple sources have confirmed that Richard Coyle will be playing Aberforth Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts 3.

Richard Coyle announced that he had joined the third Fantastic Beasts film in January, although the actor couldn’t reveal who he would be portraying in the Harry Potter prequel series. It’s important to note that while we trust, there has been no official announcement or confirmation from Warner Bros. regarding Coyle’s role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.


As fans of the Harry Potter books and movies will already know, Aberforth Dumbledore is the younger brother of Hogwarts Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. The character, who was portrayed by Ciarán Hinds in the Harry Potter film franchise, was a member of the Order of the Phoenix and aided Harry, Ron and Hermione in their mission to defeat Voldemort in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

Fans of the Harry Potter books will undoubtedly remember that Albus and Aberforth had a somewhat troubled relationship growing up, which was made worse by the arrival of Gellert Grindelwald. It’s not surprising to hear that Aberforth will appear in the Fantastic Beasts movies, as fans are eager to learn more about Albus Dumbledore and his mysterious past.

Directed by David Yates, who helmed the first two films in the series, Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently scheduled for release next summer.
