Every Jurassic Park Movie Ranked

From Jurassic Park to Jurassic World Dominion, what is the greatest Jurassic Park movie of them all?

Since the release of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, the series has grown to become one of the most influential blockbuster franchise’s of all-time. The release of Jurassic World Dominion, which is currently dominating the box-office, has proven that the Jurassic Park franchise is still as relevant and incredibly popular with audiences as it was when the original landed in 1993 .

Now that Jurassic World Dominion has smashed its way into cinemas, I thought it was time to reevaluate the entire franchise. Take a look at my ranking of every Jurassic Park movie so far:

6. Jurassic Park: The Lost World

There’s plenty to love when it comes to Jurassic Park: The Lost World. The film delivers great dinosaur action and some exciting direction from Spielberg, but it is a much less inspired film from one of the worlds most talented filmmakers. Jurassic Park: The Lost World had the potential to be a great sequel, but instead Spielberg delivered a messy, cheap-looking follow-up.

5. Jurassic Park III

While Jurassic Park III is widely considered to be the worst film in the franchise, the good far outweighs the bad as far as I’m concerned. It’s great to see Sam Neill return as Dr. Alan Grant and while the story isn’t as original or as exciting as the first film in the franchise, the Dinosaur action offers plenty of entertainment.

4. Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom

The second film in the Jurassic World trilogy is a mixed bag. The film takes the franchise in an exciting and refreshing direction – moving away from the park and back to the horror that made the original so popular. At the same time, however, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom fails to deliver interesting characters or a surprising story.

3. Jurassic World

Jurassic Park

While it doesn’t live-up to the original, Jurassic World does a great job of introducing new characters and an entirely new story to the franchise. Jurassic World re-vitalised the franchise for modern audiences and while it’s certainly not perfect, it’s still one of the most entertaining blockbusters in recent years.

2. Jurassic World Dominion

Jurassic Park

As I said in my Jurassic World Dominion review, the film brings the sequel trilogy to a fittingly over-the-top and entertaining end, even if it ultimately fails to take the franchise in a refreshing new direction.

1. Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park

Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park is a Hollywood classic for a reason. With next-level visual effects, great characters and a perfectly. balanced story, the first film in the franchise is one of the most entertaining and terrifying blockbusters of all-time.
