‘Deadpool 3’ Writer Teases “Fish Out Of Water” Story

Rhett Reese, one of the writers of Deadpool 3, has teased what to expect from the upcoming instalment of the superhero franchise.

While promoting his new Netflix movie, Spiderhead, Reese briefly talked about Deadpool 3 and teased a “fish out of water” story with Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the centre of a movie. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun,” the writer told Post Cred Pod.

Not much is known about the third film in the Deadpool franchise, except for the fact that it will be the first to introduce Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ryan Reynolds will return to portray the foul-mouthed superhero, with The Adam Project filmmaker Shawn Levy stepping in to direct. We also know that despite Deadpool’s move into the Disney-owned MCU, the third film will retain the R-rating that made the first two instalments so popular.

This isbn the first time that Reese talked about the third Deadpool movie, with the writer previously telling The Playlist how the move to Disney will impact the franchise.

“It’s these [Disney] people and these people do things their way and we were used to doing things our way, so there are differences, but I think the great part is that Marvel’s been incredibly supportive. They are gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool, you know? It’s not like any particular joke may be the one that they say, ‘You know, that’s too far,’ that could happen, but to this point, it’s been nothing but support.”

Deadpool 3 doesn’t have an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates.
