‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Crossed $1 Billion At The Worldwide Box Office

Top Gun: Maverick has crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box-office. It is the first Tom Cruise movie and only the second film since the pandemic to cross the monumental milestone.

The film, which is directed by Joseph Kosinski, joined the billion dollar club after finishing Sunday with a domestic total of $521.7 million and $484.7 million for a global total reaching just over $1 billion. Top Gun: Maverick has gone above and beyond all expectations, thanks to stellar reviews and great word of mouth.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Top Gun sequel was given a box office boost thanks to an IMAX re-release. Paramount claims that more than 16 percent of Top Gun: Maverick′s audience has seen the film more than once in theaters, while 4 percent have seen it four times or more.
