Get excited Marvel fans, it looks like the next Captain America movie just took a massive step forward. Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) will reportedly direct Captain America 4 for Marvel Studios, which will be the first Captain America movie to star Anthony Mackie as the titular hero.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) has signed on to direct the next Captain America film for Marvel Studios. Anthony Mackie will star in the film, which will reportedly take place some time after the events of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. That series concluded with Mackie’s Sam Wilson aka. The Falcon lifting the iconic shield and taking over the mantle of Captain America.
Malcolm Spellman, the creator and head writer of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is currently writing the screenplay for Captain America 4 alongside staff writer Dalan Musson. Not much is known about the plot of Captain America 4, but it’s safe to assume that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has something big planned for Mackie’s first outing as Captain America. We would also be willing to bet that Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as The Winter Soldier, but that’s nothing more than speculation.
