SDCC: ‘I Am Groot’ Trailer Teases Adorable Marvel Series

This Comic-Con is already the best Comic-Con ever! Why? Because this Comic-Con gave us the adorable first trailer for Marvel’s upcoming animated series, I Am Groot.

The first official trailer for I Am Groot, Marvel’s long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy animated spinoff series, has been released at San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer shows Baby Groot, who will be yet again voiced by Vin Diesel, on a bunch of different adventures. While this is just a quick look at the series, it’s fair to say that this will be Marvel’s cutest movie/series to date.

Vin Diesel returns to voice Groot, with Bradley Cooper also set to reprise his MCU role as Rocket Raccoon. The series will consist of five animated shorts, although it was announced at SDCC that the show will return for more episodes in the future. It seems the series will fill the gap between Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 and Avengers: Infinity War, showing Groot grow from Baby Groot into teenage Groot. This isn’t the only Guardians Of The Galaxy spinoff on the way, as director James Gunn has also shot a Holiday special that will land on Disney+ later this year.

Ryan Little, who served as a writer on What If…?, created the show and writes the series. Kirsten Lepore serves as the director, and executive produces with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. The show will be released n Disney+ on August 10.
