‘Game Of Thrones: House Of The Dragon’ Extended Trailer Released

With just under a month to go until House Of The Dragon, the highly-anticipated Game Of Thrones prequel, lands on HBO Max, an extended trailer has arrived curtsy of San Diego Comic-Con. The brand-new trailer features new footage and dialogue from the upcoming prequel, as well as a few fire-breathing lizards.

House Of The Dragon is the first of what will surely be many Game of Thrones spin-offs. The series takes place 200 years before the events of the original series, and will introduce viewers to a new set of heroes and villains. As you might have guessed from the title, House Of The Dragon will tell the story of the rise and eventual fall of House Targaryen. The series might not include characters from the original series, but viewers will certainly feel like they’ve jumped back into the world of Game Of Thrones

Much like the original series, House Of The Dragon has a large ensemble cast including Matt Smith (as Prince Daemon, Viserys’ younger brother), Paddy Considine (as King Viserys I), Emmy D’Arcy (as Princess Rhaenrya, Viserys’ first child and his heir apparent), Rhys Ifans (as Ser Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King), Olivia Cooke (as Lady Alicent Hightower, Otto’s daughter), Fabien Frankel (as Ser Criston Cole, a knight with eyes for Rhaenrya), Steve Toussaint (as Lord Corlys Velaryon a.k.a. The Sea Snake), Eve Best (as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon) and Sonoya Mizuno (as Mysaria, confidante to Daemon Targaryen).

House Of The Dragon was created by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal, based on Martin’s novel Fire & Blood. Ryan J. Condal and director Miguel Sapochnik are executive producers and co-showrunners on the series.

House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max on August 21, 2022!
